Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan in the lead is an upcoming vigilante action, written and directed by Shankar, and produced by Lyca Productions, Red Giant Movies. The movie with Anirudh Ravichander for music, Ravi Varman for cinematography, Sreekar Prasad for edits is all set to release in theaters on July 12, 2024. 

At this time, it has been revealed that Indian 2 has cleared censor with an U/A, and that Indian 2's runtime is 3 hours and 4 seconds (180.04 minutes). Indian 2 is set years after the first film Indian (1996), and a 106 year old Senapathy (Kamal Haasan) emerges from seclusion to combat a new wave of injustice and corruption in India. 

Senapathy's pursuit of a corruption free-society is aided by a YouTuber named Chitra Varadharajan (Siddharth), who is in the line of exposing corrupt politicians through his videos. Indian 2 also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, late actors Vivek, Manobala, Nedumudi Venu, among others.
