Back in April, MovieCrow had reported about the prospect of H. Vinoth directing actor Vijay's last film Thalapathy 69 (tentative title). We had also reported about Anirudh Ravichander composing music for this project. Since then actress Samantha has been linked to Thalapathy 69, and latest we hear, this potential collaboration will take off in October or November this year.

It is also being said that Thalapathy 69 will have Sathyan Sooryan for cinematography and will be produced by KVN Studios. Previously Baahubali producers DVV Entertainment were said to be producing this project. Official announcements await on whether this team up is happening or not.

[August 15, 2024: Update] Director H. Vinoth has officially confirmed for the first time today, that he is indeed teaming up with Vijay on Thalapathy 69. Attending an awards ceremony on Thursday, H. Vinoth took the stage to reveal that Thalapathy 69 will be a full on commercial film, and not a political movie (Thalapathy 69 is actor Vijay's last film before his 2026 entry into Tamil Nadu politics).
