Indian 2 written and directed by Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan in the lead is a highly anticipated sequel to Shankar-Kamal's 28 year old blockbuster hit Indian (1996). Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, the banners producing the movie have now unveiled the Indian 2 trailer and the same can be viewed above. Indian 2 releases in theaters on July 12, 2024. 

Kamal Haasan returns as the veteran Indian freedom fighter turned vigilante Senapathy in Indian 2, and his attention has diverted from corruption in government offices, to corruption all over the country this time around. Along with Senapathy, his fatal Indian martial arts skill known as the 'Varma Kalai' has also made a comeback to claim lives. 

Three late actors namely comedian Vivek, the multi-faceted Manobala and Nedumudi Venu who was part of the prequel Indian, are seen for one last time onscreen in Indian 2. The rest of the ensemble includes  Siddharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Delhi Ganesh, Jagan, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, Akhilendra Mishra among others. 

'You can neither run nor hide' is Kamal Haasan's famous tagline from Bigg Boss Tamil - a reality TV show the actor hosts on Star Vijay satellite channel. This line has been incorporated as one of Senapathy's dialogues in Indian 2, to cater to the masses. 

Indian 2 has Anirudh Ravichander for music, Ravi Varman for cinematography, T. Muthuraj for production design, Legacy Effects - Vance Hartwell, Pattanam Rasheed, A.R. Abdul Razak for makeup and prosthetics, Rocky, Gavin Miguel, Amirtha Ram, SB Satheesan, Pallavi Singh, V.Sai for costume design,  Red chillies Color for DI, and Sreekar Prasad for edits.

Ramazan Bulut, Anl Arasu, Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, Thiyagarajan have taken care of action choreography in Indian 2, while the film has dialogues by Jayamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, Lakshmi Saravana Kumar and song lyrics by Pa.Vijay , Thamarai, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Therukural Arivu.
