2024 marks the year when Kamal Haasan's long-awaited Indian 2 (June 2024), Vijay's second-last movie before political entry The Greatest of All Time (September 5, 2024), Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan (October 2024) and Ajith Kumar's Vidaa Muyarchi are all set to hit theater screens. Interestingly, the release of these films also ends a 14-year hiatus of movies starring Ajith, Vijay, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan hitting cinema halls the same year. 

2024 is also probably the last time the movies of all these actors are releasing the same year. Vijay still has one more film to go before his 2026 political debut but, it seems unlikely that films with this combination of actors will also see a release in the timeline of Vijay's last movie.

The last time Ajith, Vijay, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan had movie releases the same year was in 2010 when Aasal (February 5, 2010), Sura (April 30, 2010), Enthiran (October 1, 2010), and Manmadhan Ambu (December 23, 2010) had hit cinemas.
