National award winning actress Aparna Balamurali [Best Actress - Soorarai Pottru (2020)] has been revealed to be part of Raayan's cast, and her character poster from the movie can be viewed below. Aparna Balamurali is the second female lead to be revealed after Dushara Vijayan, and it remains to be seen which of these actresses are paired opposite Dhanush, a two time National award winning actor himself [Dhanush has two National awards for Best Acting in Aadukalam (2011), Asuran (2019) and two more for his role as a film producer]. 

Other National film award winning performers part of Raayan's ensemble are actors Kalidas Jayaram [Best Child Artist -Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum (2003)] and Prakash Raj, making the Raayan cast a coup of sorts. It is worth mentioning here that Prakash Raj is the Raayan cast member with the most number of National film awards in total, and for acting separately [Best Actor - Kanchivaram (2007), Best Supporting Actor - Iruvar (1997), and two special awards for acting in the Telugu movie Anthapuram (1998) and the Tamil movie Dhaya (2002)].
