Raayan has now been officially announced as the title of D 50, Dhanush's 50th film as an actor and second film as director. The first look poster unveiled featured a buzz cut Dhanush alongside actors Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan; All three of them, touted to be playing brothers from North Chennai, give gangster/chef. 

A Sun Pictures production, Raayan is a gangster action thriller with AR Rahman for music. The Grammy, Oscar winning music composer is working with Dhanush for the fourth time after Raanjhana (2013), Maryan (2013), Atrangi Re (2021) and for the first time with 'director' Dhanush.

Raayan is scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu (dubbed) and Hindi (dubbed) languages. The technical crew of Raayan also includes Om Prakash for cinematography, Prasanna GK for edits, Jacki for production design and Peter Hein for action chorepgraphy.
