Eros International had announced that the shooting of Rajinikanth's RANA will commence by December when the health conditions of Super star is fine. But now it seems like the film will be shelved for an another film to commence very soon. Actress Deepika padukone is also very much uncertain on the commencing date for the film as she has not given any bulk dates for the shooting .

Rana was officially  launched on 29th of April this year. Since after that Mr.Rajinikanth had a major surgery at Singapore and was asked to take rest for more than a month's time to recover completely.  The Production team felt that they would be begin the shoot once he is fully fit to attend shooting schedules which demands him to perform stunts. Eros had earlier mentioned that they would start the proceedings by the end of October but till now the shoot has not commenced. Finally what we get to hear is that Rana will be shelved temporarily for another film to commence from Eros International.
