In lieu of actor Kamal Haasan's 69th birthday which falls tomorrow i.e. November 7, 2023, his home production banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) has unveiled the title of KH 234. Thug Life marks the Ulaganayan's reunion with ace director Mani Ratnam after their epic crime drama Nayakan (1987).

Thug Life was first announced in November last year, has now gone on floors. An official video revealing the film's crew was unveiled last month, and now the film's cast has been officially announced. Actors Dulquer Salmaan, Trisha and Jayam Ravi are reuniting with Mani Ratnam on Thug Life , and Trisha is additionally reuniting with Kamal Haasan after Thoongavanam (2015) and Manmadhan Ambu (2010). 

The technical crew of Thug Life includes AR Rahman for music, Ravi K Chandran for cinematography, Anbariv for stunts and Sreekar Prasad for edits. The movie is a joint production venture of RKFI, Ushayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
