Actor Vikram's next release is a Tamil movie titled Dhruva Natchathiram which is written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon (GVM). The movie's official trailer dropped marking the auspicious occasion of Dussehra/Vijayadasami and a first impression report (FIR) of the same follows:

Fresh Even After 7 Years

To the unversed, Dhruva Natchathiram starring 'Chiyaan' Vikram in the lead has been in production since 2016. Multiple production delays, alterations and release plan changes later, the film is finally releasing as Dhruva Natchathiram Part One: Yuddha Kaandam in theaters next month. For a movie that has been in the making for 7 years now, Dhruva Natchathiram trailer comes across as fresh and there isn't an ounce of staleness anywhere in the 2 minute plus video. 

Another fact about this project, is that it was originally planned with actor Suriya before Vikram came on board. So for almost a decade now, the Tamil cine audience is aware of what Dhruva Nachathiram entails and has a fair idea of the world Gautham Menon has created. Yet Vikram as John - the covert operative who leads a team of elite professionals called 'The Basement', entices.

Their sole intention of taking down terrorist organizations secretly without being bound by law and order also comes across as interesting.

The Big Comeback

In the early 2000s GVM and music composer Harris Jayaraj worked on 7 consecutive films that included remakes. Their golden combination made a brief comeback in 2015 for Yennai Arindhaal, and 8 years later the duo's return is as anticipated as the Dhruva Natchathiram film in itself. Dhruva Natchathiram trailer does not disappoint in this aspect, and Harris' score amply elevates the trailer content. 

Actors That Leave A Mark

'Chiyaan' Vikram was 50 when he started the project and is currently 3 years short of becoming a senior citizen. Yet the actor's suave onscreen, and slick moves during stunt actions give the current generation leads a run for their money. From Parthiban to Ritu Varma to Divya Dharshini to Radikaa Sarathkumar to the lesser known faces, each one of the supporting cast has been showcased in a fresh light; Even their quick second flashes leaves a lasting impression.

The most lasting impression is however from actor Vinayakan who thanks to his recent hit Jailer, grabs a bit more attention over everyone else. His stylish lean look in contrast to the rugged role he played in Jailer adds to the limelight.
