Leo bookings in Tamil Nadu faces trouble due to distributor!

Full fledged advance bookings for Vijay starrer Leo opened this Sunday [October 15] in Tamil Nadu, yet some theaters including those in Chennai painted a different picture. Presumably, these theaters including multiplex chains PVR-INOX were waiting on signing the final agreement with respective distribution teams. Now social-media active theater outlets have confirmed that this is the case.

Atleast 3 Chennai-based theater chains have announced that the Leo bookings are on hold for now, and that they hope to come to an agreement by this evening. Word in the grapevine is that the disagreement is over distributor share. Due to Leo's high minimum guarantee (MG), distributors of the film are currently demanding a high share from theater owners.

As opposed to the norm which ensures 65% distributor share for the first week, 60% for the second week  and 55% for the third week, Leo distributors have been demanding upto 75% share, and 65% for the second week as well. Some theatres in Tamil Nadu including those in Chengalpattu have apparently signed on these terms, while the ones yet to open Leo bookings are still negotiating the price.
