Thalapathy 68 - A Venkat Prabhu puzzle is actor Vijay's next project after Leo (releasing October 19, 2023), and the film which is a production ventures of AGS Productions is all set to begin shooting this year. Thalapathy 68 (tentative title) has so far been buzzed to feature Vijay in dual roles of father and son, and one of these characters is also supposedly a RAW agent. 

At this time, buzz has it that actor Arvind Swami has been approached to play an important role in Thalapathy 68. The actor has previously worked with Venkat Prabhu in the director's last release Custody (2023). Thalapathy 68 has Yuvan Shankar Raja for music. Other actors who have been linked to the project with no official confirmation include Prabhu Deva, Jai, Madhavan, Premgi Amaren, Jyotika, Priyanka Mohan among others.
