Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise is a 2021 Telugu film which received PAN Indian success. Its sequel Pushpa: The Rule is now all set to release in theaters, and the makers recently confirmed that Pushpa 2's release date as August 15, 2024. Another South biggie that is planning to release around the same Independence day is the Shankar directed Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan in the lead.

Indian 2's release date awaits official confirmation but the buzz of the Telugu, Tamil sequels clashing at the box-office has already garnered the attention of those in the movie business. Pushpa: The Rule is written and directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.

Indian 2 on the other hand is a joint venture of Red Giant Movies and Lyca Productions.
