Ghilli (2004) starring Vijay and Trisha in the lead is a cult hit Tamil movie. A remake of the 2003 Telugu blockbuster Okkadu, Ghilli is one of those rare case scenarios where a remake film stands neck and neck in terms of the original's popularity and reception among cine audience. Vijay and Trisha are all set to reunite onscreen after a gap of 15 years on Leo which releases October 19, 2023. Seemingly, the pair will immediately be enthralling the audience by gracing the silver screen soon after with the Ghilli re-release.

A remastered version of Dharani directed Ghilli is all set to release in Tamil Nadu theaters next year. While an exact release date is not set yet, Ghilli re-release can be expected in early 2024.

[Update: April 10, 2024] Ghilli's re-release date is April 20, 2024 [Saturday], and the same has been officially confirmed by Ghilli's re-release distributors in Tamil Nadu, Sakthi Film Factory.
