Racy Entertainer
The good old formula is back with Gilli. Dharani has done it for the third time by churning out this hit-and-run yarn that keeps you engaged and entertained for 160 minutes. But suspend disbelief, sit back, care two hoots for logic and simply grin and enjoy. Dharani uses his characters as restless, unbelievable pawns in a do-or-die chess game. Vidyasagar's music and the picturisation of songs could have been better.(more)

An out and out entertainer.
A fast- paced movie with hits, chases and the right mix of romance and humor is Gilli. Director Dharani, known for such movies, has come out with a three- hour entertainer. A good screenplay with peppy numbers has made the movie interesting. With a huge star cast and grand sets, the movie takes many twists and turns. With these ingredients, Dharani has given a sumptuous treat for Vijay's fans.(more)

Action Packed Entertainer
Vijay gives a very energetic performance and has put his heart and soul in it. His action and dances are a treat to watch. Trisha lives the role. Prakashraj who has done similar roles before just hams his way through. Director Dharani leaves no moment unturned and packs it with action and entertainment. Vidyasagar's music is fast paced and right for the mood of the film. (more)
