Leo starring actor Vijay in the lead is an upcoming action thriller written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. While the filmmaker has not officially confirmed, Leo is touted to be the third film in Lokesh's cinematic universe known as the LCU. Recently during a public interaction, Lokesh Kanagaraj was asked about the second single update of Leo. To this, the director replied,

"(Leo) second single will take time. Because the movie is not your regular first single, second single kind of film. Its a film like Kaithi." 

 

Dream Warrior Pictures produced Kaithi (2019) starring actor Karthi in the lead was the first film that kicked off the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The movie was followed up with Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram (2022), backed by a completely different production house i.e. Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI). Leo is the third film in this cinematic coup to come from one more production banner - 7 Screen Studio.

The common theme of all these films is busting of drugs and drug lords. Leo is scheduled to release in theaters on October 19, 2023. The film has Trisha playing female lead, Sanjay Dutt playing Vijay's father and Anirudh for music. Lokesh Kanagaraj has assured that he will not be killing Trisha's character in Leo, given the female lead of Kaithi is never shown and is killed according to the story.
