Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin, Oppenheimer is an upcoming epic thriller by director Christopher Nolan that is all set to release in theaters from July 21, 2023. 

The movie stars actor Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is often credited as the father of atomic-nuclear bomb. Oppenheimer was a famed American scientist known to develop the first known nuclear weapons, and Nolan's movie especially focusses on his stint at Los Alamos where he created the first atomic bomb known to mankind.  

Actress Emily Blunt plays Oppenheimer's infamous biologist/botanist wife - Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Matt Damon portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. Florence Pugh plays psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, with whom Oppenheimer had an on/off relationship and Kenneth Branagh stars in a pivotal role in the film. 

Oppenheimer also stars Rami Malek, Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano as Robert Serber , Josh Hartnett as pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence, and Josh Peck as American physicist Kenneth Bainbridge among others.
