Actor Kamal Haasan's production banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) recently announced that they will be bankrolling actor Silambarasan TR's 48th movie. Tentatively titled STR 48, the movie is RKFI's 56th production and will be directed by Desingh Periyasamy. STR 48 will begin in 2024 and currently the cast and crew are being finalized. MovieCrow had reported that composer AR Rahman has been approached for the project.

The Grammy winning music director has previously given hit albums like Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (2010), Achcham Yenbachu Madamaiyada (2016), Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018) and more recently Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (2022) for Silambarasan TR. The actor seemingly is keen on collaborating once again with ARR.

On the other hand, Anirudh seems to have won RKFI over ever since Vikram (2022) happened, and the production banner is most likely to zero in on the composer with the golden touch. Only an official announcement can confirm which of these names is on board STR 48.
