On Monday, we reported that the first single from Mani Ratnam directed Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 (PS2) is all set to release this month, and that composer AR Rahman himself has sung this number. PS2 is the sequel to Mani Ratnam's 2022 magnum opus PS1 which stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in dual roles. A first glimpse of the sequel was released during its release date (April 28, 2023) announcement last year.

Now we hear, a full fledged teaser video of PS2 is all set to release by end of this month i.e. February, 2023 or first week of March, 2023. The Ponniyin Selvan movies are based on the late Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel of the same name. The 1950s story is considered to be one of Tamil literature's greatest, and follows the fictional tale set in a real life Chola Empire.
