Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Thalapathy 67 starring actor Vijay is still a hush-hush project, despite it going on floors in December last year. One of the big names to be recently associated with the film was actor 'Chiyaan' Vikram and Lokesh was directly asked about the same during a public appearance. When asked if actor Vikram was in Thalapathy 67, Lokesh responded,
"Even I heard of it (Vikram being in Thalapathy 67)...I have been hearing a lot like this. You youserlves will come to know. Everything will come out soon. If (I) tell everything here, then there won't be any surprise."
Buzz has it that actor Vikram's character in the LCU aka Lokesh Cinematic Universe, created by the director with films like Kaithi (2019) and the Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram (2022), will be introduced via a cameo in Thalapathy 67. Apparently Lokesh wanted to rope Chiyaan Vikram for Suriya's Rolex character in the LCU, and then Arjun's main villain character in Thalapathy 67.
But the actor wasn't satisfied with the length of his role so he did not come on board. But he was keen on working with Lokesh, so the filmmaker has now written a significant character for Vikram in Lokesh's next film with Kamal Haasan. This Lokesh-Kamal Haasan-Vikram project is believed to be the sequel to Vikram - the movie i.e. Vikram 2.
