Indian 2 is a sequel to his director Shankar's superhit 1996 movie Indian in which Kamal Haasan played dual roles of a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante father (Senapathy) and his corrupt son (Chandrabose). Kamal Haasan returns as the 90 year old Senapathy in Indian 2, which has been in production hell for quite sometime now. Nevertheless, a schedule of Indian 2 is all set to begin shooting at Tirupati and a set on the outskirts of the Andhra Pradesh city has already been put up for the same.

Indian 2's Tirupathi schedule is expected to begin this weekend - between January 21 and 22, and along with Kamal Haasan, actor Siddharth is also expected to be part of this schedule. Lyca Productions in association with Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is producing Indian 2. The film is written by director Shankar, B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar.

"Indian 2 shooting is almost done, only songs are left..Kamal Haasan sir is playing 20-30 years senior to his role from the previous movie (Indian), he's playing a 90 year old..He would come at 6 AM in the morning so that he could give his first short at 10 (AM). Then after pack up at 6 (PM), it takes 2 hours for his prosthetic make-up removal. But his passion.. I think he is cinema" - Indian 2 actress Rakul Preet Singh during the promotions of her OTT release Chhatriwali (Hindi), that premiered on Zee5 today.

 

Its technical crew includes Anirudh for music, Rathnavelu, Ravi Varman for cinematography, Sreekar Prasad for edits, Ramazan Bulut, Peter Hein, Anl Arasu for stunts, Pa. Vijay, Thamarai, Vivek for lyrics, and Bosco, Sundar Raj for dance choreography.
