We had previously reported that actor Dhanush's next as a director will be produced by Sun Pictures and star himself, Vishnu Vishal and SJ Suryah. Latest we hear the movie has been titled Raayan and will feature actors Dushara Vijayan and Kalidas Jayaram as well. Shooting of Raayan is expected to begin from April, 2023 and Sun Pictures is expected to make an official announcement on this project at 6: 30 PM today.

Set in North Chennai, Raayan will see Dushara playing Dhanush's sister. An official announcement on the rest of the cast and crew is currently awaited.

[February 19, 2024//Update]: Sun Pictures has officially announced Raayan as the title of D 50, which is Dhanush's 50th film as actor and second film as director. The first look poster features Dhanush alongside actors Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan.
