Actor Vijay starrer Varisu has had an unprecedented opening weekend in the Hindi market, as the movie's box-office collection has totalled upto Rs. 3.88 Cr. in the region alone. The Hindi version of the movie has made this number in its first three days of release.

Varisu is a direct Tamil film and was released in the Hindi market with close to no promotions. It was also up against a direct Hindi movie titled Kuttey (starring Arjun Kapoor), alongside its own South counterparts Thunivu (Tamil), Veera Simha Reddy (Telugu) and Waltair Veerayya (Telugu).
