Actor Vijay's Varisu was released in USA by Shloka Entetainment, the same overseas distributor of Telugu Sankranthi releases - Waltair Veerayya (Chiranjeevi) and Veera Simha Reddy (Nandamuri Balakrishna) [Both Telugu films are from the same production banner is a different topic altogether]. Amidst one too many conflicts of interest, and last minute changes in Varisu release date, the movie managed to open with Rs. 2. 72 Cr. gross in USA.
