Praises pour in for Jayam Ravi's Ponniyin Selvan depiction

It has been a week since Mani Ratnam directed Ponniyin Selvan: Part One (PS-I) released in cinemas, and the movie is still going strong in terms of theatrical run. PS-I is a multi-starrer, and almost every actor from the movie has been noticed and praised for some aspect in the film or other. Social media recently is filled with the senior generation audience giving their feedback on PS-I, and they've all been praises for actor Jayam Ravi being an apt fit for the titular character.

Book-wise Arunmozhi Varman appears in the story as a 19 year old, so many were initially doubtful of Jayam Ravi's casting. While Mani Ratnam did clarify that the ages of characters in Kalki Krishnamurthy's famous story do not align with the ages of characters in his film, the jury was still out on of Jayam Ravi would be able to sell a 10th century royal prince in a historical drama set-up.

Much to everyone's surprise (including actor Chiyaan Vikram's), Jayam Ravi pulled off his role with ease, turning a new leaf in his acting career.  The praises pouring in the actor's way from those who've watched the movie, stand testament to the same.
