Director Lokesh Kanagraj who has given hits like Vikram (2022), Kaithi (2019) and Maanagaram (2017) is reuniting with actor Vijay after Master (2021) on Thalpathy 67 (tentative title). The filmmaker recently announced a social media break stating that he will be 'back soon' with his new film announcement.  And at an event where he was presiding, Lokesh was asked the reason behind the same.

Lokesh said that the social media break is 'to focus' on the writing of his 'next script' and fans couldn't be more thrilled at this Thalapathy 67 update. The director at the same event also expressed on atleast two occassions to not expect any Thalapathy 67 update (directly) from him, since he can only talk about it post official announcement from producers.
