Actor Silamabarasan TR who had to pull out of Pathu Thala shooting due to his father T. Rajhendar's health complications has now resumed filming for the movie. The actor joined the sets at Bellary palace in Karnataka and shared pictures of him as AGR from the movie. Film's director Obeli N Krishna tweeted, "Hot film making with cool @SilambarasanTR_ bro" to commemorate the actor's rejoining. 

A remake of director Narthan's Kannada movie Mufti (2017), Pathu Thala is produced by Studio Green and Pen Studios. The movie has AR Rahman for music and will see Silambarasan TR as an underground don. Pathu Thala also stars Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead and is scheduled to hit theater screens on December 14 , 2022.
