The first single from Mani Ratnam's upcoming period drama Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (PS-I) is all set to release on July 31, 2022 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages. Titled Ponni Nadhi in Tamil, the song is penned by Ilango Krishnan and crooned by AR Rahman in the language. 

Madras  Talkies and Lyca Productions who are producers of PS-I have now announced that the first single will be unveiled at the famous Express Avenue at Chennai at 6 PM. Actor Jayam Ravi who plays the titular character in the movie, has confirmed his presence at this event.

PS-I first single is also crooned by AR Rahman in Hindi (Kaveri Se Milan) and Telugu. Nakul Abhyankar has crooned the Kannada version of the song whereas Alphons Joseph has sung the Malayalam version.
