The makers of Ponniyin Selvan: Part One (PS-I) have officially announced that the first single from the movie composed by AR Rahman will be unveiled soon. The also shared a video of AR Rahman in a music session with film's director Mani Ratnam and Drums Sivamani. However the first single's release date and other details have not been unveiled yet.

A historical drama based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's fictional work on the Chola era, PS-I is produced by Lyca Productions, Madras Talkies and comes with an ensemble of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Karthi, Shobita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Parthiepan, Jayaram, actor Rahman among others. 

The movie hits theater screens on September 30, 2022 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Tips Music holds the audio rights to Ponniyin Selvan.
