While fans were expecting to get a glimpse of actor Chiyaan Vikram from the Ponniyin Selvan teaser launch later today, a shocking news broke out that the actor has been hospitalized. Initial rumour mills suggested that the actor suffered a heart-attack and is currently stable. However it was later clarified by Vikram's team that the actor only suffered mild chest discomfort.

Vikram was admitted to Kauvery hospital at Alwarpet, Chennai on Thursday and was shifted to normal ward today. He is currently being treated for fever and will likely be discharged soon.  

Statement from Vikram's Manager:

Dear fans and wellwishers,
Chiyaan Vikram had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He DID NOT have a heart attack as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect.
