The title and first look of Thalapathy 66, Vijay's upcoming movie with Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally is expected on June 22, 2022 i.e. the actor's 48th birthday. At this time, rumour mills are abuzz that Thalapathy 66 has been titled Vaarisu in Tamil and given that it aligns with the film's genre i.e. family entertainer, many fans believe this could be the actual title of the movie. 

They have also expressed disappointment over the choice on social media, mainly for the lack of an effect name-wise. It is worth mentioning here that Sri Venkateswara Creations, producers of Thalapathy 66 are yet to announce the title and first look release date, let alone confirm Vaarisu as the film's Tamil title.  

Thalapathy 66 has SS Thaman for music and comes with an ensemble of Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Prabhu, actor Shaam, Telugu actor Srikanth, actresses Sangeetha, Samyuktha Karthik, Jayasudha, Khushbu among others.
