In a recent interview with TOI, actor Sarathkumar who plays an important role in Vijay's upcoming movie Thalapathy 66 has stated that the next schedule of the movie will be filmed from May, 2022 till August, 2022. Thalapathy 66 went on floors last month i.e. April, 2022 with a brief schedule. The team is gearing up for full fledged shooting this month and seems like they will be held up for the next 4 months.

A Vamshi Paidipally directorial, Thalapathy 66 also stars Rashmika Mandanna and has SS Thaman for music. Sarathkumar has also stated in the TOI interview that the movie comes with a 'powerful script' and that it will 'get the attention of all kinds of audiences'.

Sri Venakteswara Creations is bankrolling the project and it is expected to release in theaters this year.
