Thalapathy 66 (tentative title), actor Vijay's next with Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally went on floors earlier this month and by Tamil New Year i.e. April 14, 2022, the film had completed a quick schedule of shooting. A song from Thalapathy 66 was said to have been filmed during this schedule at Chennai and now the team is gearing towards beginning full-fledged filming from May, 2022.

Thalapathy 66 which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sarathkumar among others has Thaman for music; Recently the composer shared a still with the film's director and producer to hint at the progress of film's music work. Thaman wrote, "#Thalapathy66" along with a bunch of emojis, adding to the expectations of his first time composing for Vijay.
