Recently it was announced that Vijay Sethupathi, Gayathrie starrer Maamanithan will be releasing in theaters on May 6, 2022 . However the release date has now been changed to May 20, 2022 to avoid clash with Vijay Sethupathi's other movie Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. ProducerrRK Suresh  has also announced that Maamanithan is gearing up for an audio launch soon.

Maamanithan is directed by Seenu Ramasamy and has Yuvan Shankar Raja, Ilayaraja for music. The film is produced by Yuvan's YSR Films.
