Thalapathy 66 (tentative title) is actor Vijay's next after his impending release Beast and the Tamil star is collaborating with Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally for the same. Latest on Thalapathy 66 is that composer Thaman has begun song composition work for the movie and is said to have completed 2 numbers already. The movie is S.S. Thaman's first film with actor Vijay and second with director Vamshi after the 2010 Telugu film Brindavanam.

Thalapathy 66 is produced by Tollywood filmhouse Sri Venkateswara Creations and Rashmika Mandanna is said to be playing female lead. An official announcement on the film's cast and crew is currently awaited.
