It is a widely known fact that Vettai Mannan was supposed to be director Nelson Dilipkumar's actual debut but shooting of the film was stopped mid-way due to reasons unknown. Vettai Mannan starred Silambarasan TR and Hansika in the lead and producer of this film S.S. Chakravarthy has now said that this movie might be revived soon.

Talking about why Vettai Mannan was delayed the NIC arts producer said, "I had a lot of commitments because of which Vettai Mannan had to be stopped mid-way. We might be reviving Vettai Mannan soon. The second-half of Vettai Mannan was to be completely shot at Japan. I needed some time for it. In the mean time, Simbu decided to complete Vaalu (another production of SS Chakravarthy which also starred Hansika)."

Charavarthy further added, "..but the release of Vaalu was delayed..So I required more time (before getting back to other productions). This is why I couldn't complete Vettai Mannan..I told Nelson that I will call him myself when required. He is the best among all directors I have come across."

An action thriller based on the life of underworld assassins, Vettai  Mannan revolved around the lead who becomes an international assassin. The movie had Yuvan Shankar Raja for music and fans to this day are dismayed that this exciting combo went short of happening.
