Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies unveiled the first look posters of Mani Ratnam's upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan-I (PS-I), which is part one in his two part multi-starrer film Ponniyin Selvan. Actors Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi and Jayam Ravi were unveiled in their periodic looks from the movie and it was officially announced that the film will be hitting theater screens on September 30, 2022.

MovieCrow also learns that PS-I's theatrical rights has been bought by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies, while an official announcement on the same awaits. The film has music by A.R. Rahman and buzz is that for both films, the composer alone was provided with a massive budget of Rs. 20 Cr. 

Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 is scheduled to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages and the technical crew of this film also includes Ravi Varman for cinematography, Sreekar Prasad for the edits, Thotta Tharani as art director and B Jeyamohan as writer.
