Maaran is an upcoming Tamil film directed by Karthick Naren which is scheduled to release directly on Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform. Actors Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan have paired up for the first time for this film and they play characters named Maaran and Thara respectively.

While Dhanush will be seen playing a journalist, Malavika Mohan's character Thara is said to be a photojournalist in the film. An investigative thriller, Maaran is expected to premiere in early March, 2022 and will be available to stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Actor Samuthirakani will be seen in a negative role in this movie, which is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and has GV Prakash for music.
