Sivakarthikeyan's long-in-the-making sci-fi film Ayalaan had completed shoot earlier this year and is believed to be in post-production for the extensive VFX work. At this time, a company named Tag Entertainment has successfully obtained a stay order against the release of the movie till January 3, 2022.

While Ayalaan makers had not scheduled or announced a release, the reason for this interim stay order seems to be a financial tussle with 24 AM Studios, one of the producers of the movie. Tag Entertainment is said to have lent Rs. 5 Cr. and Madras High Court issued the order for 24 AM Studios to repay the amount with interest.

Directed by R. Ravikumar, Ayalaan also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran among others and has A.R. Rahman for music. The film is co-produced by KJR Studios.
