Gautham Menon directed Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is an upcoming Silambarasan TR starrer with A.R. Rahman for music. After completing shooting in Karaikudi, Chennai, and Mumbai, the film is all set to begin its final schedule in Chennai. This schedule will be the film's longest and has been planned to go on for a about a month.

A set replicating Mumbai is even being put up at a private film city in Chennai for this schedule and the whole shooting is expected to be wrapped in December, 2021. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is a step away from usual Gautham Menon or Silambarasan TR films and has Kayadu Lohar playing female lead.

The movie is is produced by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International.
