Maaran is actor Dhanush's upcoming movie with director Karthick Naren and currently the final schedule of the film is in progress at Chennai. Film's female lead Malavika Mohanan recently updated that she is in the city and has joined the sets to complete the remaining few portions. Buzz is that the movie will be wrapped soon and its first single composed by GV Prakash will be released this month.

Maaran is touted to be an investigative thriller and Dhanush and Malavika are said to be playing journalists in it. Actor Mahendran plays a character with a negative shade in this film which is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films.
