Member of Tamil Nadu's ruling political party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and trailblazing gender activist poet Salma has slammed actor Santhanam for his recently released movie Dikkiloona.

As mentioned in MovieCrow's review, in one of the earlier scenes of the movie a scientist makes his entry aided by a crutch and Santhanam's character mocks him and refers to the crutch as a side stand.

Indicating the same, writer Salma took to Twitter to say, "Strong condemnations for the ignorance and stupidity of actor Santhanam who has acted by teasing the disabled. Disability of fellow human beings is not material for making comedy."

It is worth mentioning here that Dikkiloona written and directed by Karthik Yogi has also been slammed by critics for being a sexist comedy. The movie was a direct OTT release on Zee 5 and has been streaming since September 10, 2021.
