The Mysterious Benedict Society: Disney+ new series has a Tamil connection!

The Mysterious Benedict Society is one of Disney Plus Hotstar's big budget productions outside of the Marvel and Star Wars series and it is based on a best-selling book of the same name. Episode 1 and 2 of series premiered on June 25, episode 3 released on July 2 and the next episode is waiting to stream on July 9. 

 

While the show is slowly picking up on popularity, what has attracted the Tamil section of the audience is the character played by Canadian actress Gia Sandhu. Sandhu plays a tutor named Ms. Perumal who is attached to an orphan named Reynie, lead character of the show.

She teaches him Tamil and in episode 1 Reynie is seen conversing in Tamil with his teacher at an important juncture. The Mysterious Benedict Society, as such is a show with a cornucopia of characters belonging to different races and here is all you need to know if you are interested in catching up on the show:

 

Plot


The series is based on a 2007 bestselling middle grade book by Trenton Lee Stewart. The story follows the efforts of a scientist named Mr. Benedict who assembles a team of 4 highly capable and odd-ball orphans to infiltrate an evil master-mind organization and find the person responsible for the world’s increased anxiety.
