Ponniyin Selvan, director Mani Ratnam's ambitious mutli-starrer is in the news for nearing completion and reportedly the film is expected to wrap shooting by the first week of March, 2021.

Producers Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions have kept everything low-key till now but word is that the high-budget period drama is aiming for a Diwali release i.e. early November, 2021.

Based on an eponymous novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, Ponniyin Selvan stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sara Arjun among others. The film has A.R. Rahman for music.
