Selvaraghavan's Mayakkam Enna featuring Dhanush & Richa was earlier slated for Diwali release as it was completed well before the festival but due to unavailability of good screens it had to back out of the Diwali race. The main reason would be to avoid clashes with biggies like Velayudham & 7am Arivu during the festive season which occupied a major chunk of it.

The Producers Gemini Film Circuit then wanted to finalize the release on 11-11-11 which had its significance right from the beginning of the year but sadly they could not make it on that day. Till now there seems to be no official confirmation about the release date of this film as reports says it would either release on 18th or 25th of November. The paper ads also don't seem to mention any release date till now but only says it will release this month.
