Among the movies that are expected to release in 2021, Karthi starrer Sulthan is one. The film marks actress Rashmika Mandanna's debut in Tamil and is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame. Now, it is being said that Sulthan may skip theatrical release and premiere directly on OTT platform.

Reportedly, Sulthan's OTT and Satellite rights were brought by Star Network's Disney Plus Hotstar and Vijay TV respectively and the now the makers are in talks to re-negotiate their deal into a direct premiere one, skipping theatrical release. 

An official confirmation on the same is however not been made. Sulthan is produced by S.R. Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures.
