Horror film Katteri, directed by Yaamirukka Bayamey fame Deekay and produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green initially took the OTT route, joining the list of films which have bypassed theatrical release owing to the Coronavirus pandemic.

However, as government allowed theatres to function with 50% seat allocation, the makers have now skipped direct OTT and sticks to original plan of Theatrical release. The makers have now announced that the film will be releasing for Christmas i.e on Dec 25 in theatres. 

Katteri digital rights was bought by streaming platform Zee 5. Katteri stars Vaibhav, Sonam Bajwa, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Aathmika in prominent roles while the film has music by S.N. Prasad.
