Actor Kamal Haasan and director Shankar handed over the compensation cheques to surviving families of the members who passed away in a tragic accident on the sets of Indian 2. The freak accident which cost the lives of assistant director Krishna, art assistant Chandran, and production assistant Madhu was caused by a giant industrial crane carrying heavy light quipment.

A cheque of Rs. 1 crore was handed over to each of the families at the FEFSI office today in the presence of  the board's president RK Selvamani. The aid was jointly contributed by Kamal Haasan, Shankar and the production banner Lyca Productions.
