Actor Simbu (STR) was shooting for Venkat Prabhu directed Maanaadu when Coronavirus COVID-19 brought movie productions all around the world to an abrupt halt. STR also was facing a complaint at that time that he had began shooting for Maanaadu without completing work for the Gnanavel Raja produced Mufti.

But now seems like the lockdown has brought the two parties to resolve their issues mutually, for word around the block is that Mufti will be resumed once shootings are allowed. It is also being said that STR will be filming both Maanaadu and Mufti simultaneously. 

A remake of a Kannada film of the same name, Mufti also stars Gautham Karthik in a key role and is directed by Narthan who also helmed the original.
