In 2019, director Gautham Menon not only confirmed a collaboration with actor Suriya but also revealed plot details by stating that he is writing a love story of two singers named Kamal and Kadambari. In 2020, Menon released a quarantine-shot short-film titled Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn in which the protagonist, a film-maker himself is seen working on a script which has the same characters Kamal and Kadambari. 

While fans of Suriya were quick to point this one upon Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn's release, Gautham Menon has now himself stated in a recent interview that while he has Joshua Emai Pol Kaaka and Dhruvanatchathiram up for release in 2020, he is currently working on this said script for Suriya along with Vetaiyaadu Vilayaadu 2 for Kamal Haasan.

Menon had also said that the scripts that he is working on will be his upcoming projects post the release of his current movies.
