Director Vetrimaaran has shared a fresh update about Arasan, his first collaboration with Silambarasan.
In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed that the film’s script has already been completed and the project will likely be wrapped up sooner than his usual timelines. He also hinted that fans may soon get their first glimpse of the film.
“Arasan will be completed soon. I have finished the script, so the film will be done faster than usual. In a few days, we may unveil some kind of glimpse that will satisfy the curiosity of fans,” he said.
Set in the world of Vada Chennai, Arasan also stars Vijay Sethupathi in a prominent role. Actors Andrea Jeremiah and Samuthirakani are expected to reprise their characters Chandra and Guna from Vada Chennai. The film also features Yogalakshmi, while reports suggest Vikranth and child artist Kamalesh Jagan may have joined the cast, though an official confirmation is awaited.
The film is based on a version of the screenplay that Vetrimaaran had originally written for Vada Chennai when Silambarasan was considered for the lead before Dhanush eventually starred in the project. Described as “an untold tale from the world of Vada Chennai,” the film will reportedly feature Silambarasan in two avatars — as a young man and an older version of the character.
Arasan is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under V Creations, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first collaboration with both Silambarasan and Vetrimaaran.
